Blogging Helps You?

Cadene Harmen | Blogging Specialist

Cadene Harmen The shock in your voice is right on target. Most people react that way when they realize that blogging just isn't someone telling all their secrets, hopes and dreams. Blogging can be one of the best outlets for emotion stress. Its just like writing in a journal or diary, only its on the net, and you can assess it any time any place as long as there is a computer and internet acess

Not only does blogging help you but it can help others too. When your too stressed out to come up with names or details of characters or even events, sometimes its the best place to find information that you can use for a story. I mean if you want to get in touch with a character that you created. This character, is dark, depressed because her parents just split up. Well how are you going to get a good understanding of that emotional pain if you haven't experienced it. Well thats easy take it from someone else. Well don't take their exact words but translate their emotions and feelings into that of your own or your characters.

Blogs act as a form of research. Instead of setting up an interview which you may want to do still but if your not so good with one on one or asking personal questions then go look at a public blog. Most of them are fasinating to read, especially the ones that could even be turned into novels themselves. The drama and conflict that people have in their lives well, what makes a better story than the truth its self.

My suggestion is to create a blog, novelwriters.com and livejournal.com are some of the best blogging sites. They are easy to customize and make your own and have a very large community so you can just enter a key word into the search and which ever blog has listed that as a subject will come up. So go create a blog and keep it up to date. If you have ideas, words, lists anything that will help you to write better, post it up there. Advice on an issue, questions, let the blogging community know, they will answer.

WritersINK just started a new feature. We have selected three of our staff members to blog on the different aspects of their jobs. They each have three different fields that they work in so this can give you the insight into what real writers are forced to deal with. What emotional ideas and problems come with a job in the magazine industry. Be sure to check them out and if you have any questions for the bloggers themselves, just use the contact form to send them a message!
