Poetry Prompt
Write a poem about someone eles, describe the person their life, who is this person? Where do they come from, what do they do? Description is the key here.
Jason Laboom
Cameron Long
The person that I dream about at night
the one that holds you when you cry,
its always there to comfort you,
kisses you when you're cute
and loves to make you angry,
that has a smile which makes you forgive him
every time,
That person is Jason Laboom.
He's my Prince Charming
my best friend.
He brings me soup when I'm sick.
Leaves me flowers on my car after a crappy day of school.
He throws me a great birthday party, and
showers me with presents;
ten months later.
He's in the Air Force,
and only comes home once a year.
He is tall and muscular,
has blonde hair with cliche blue eyes.
The shoulders that hold his
stubborn head up are wide and broad.
Considered sexy to a girl like
myself though he doesn't believe me.
His arms are long and wrap around me easily.
They are bulky from doing many pushups
and his hands are huge and engulf mine twice over.
He enjoys making me angry
then smiles, which always makes
me forget that I was ever mad at him.
And he knows he can get away with it.
That smile fits his personality perfectly.
I know the way his mind works
like the way I know every beat in my favorite song,
and he knows me like every word in his favorite book.
He wants to be a shrink one day
and often tries to "shrink" me.
Unfortunately for him
I have plenty of psychology classes,
he often tells me things that are far off base,
but I humor him.
He sometimes gets depressed
becoming so unmotivated that
he lies on the floor and refuses to move.
At tht point I don't know what to do.
My day's happiness is lying on a floor,
sulking,
making my day harder.
The Air Force keeps in in California.
I can't do anything to help him.
That doesn't help me.
Our relationship is failing,
and I'm getting lost,
trying to get back to my dreams,
of Jason Laboom.
